Did you know that two of the dirtiest coal plants in the United States are located right here in the City of Chicago?  Those who live closest to the plants bear the brunt of their pollution.  Combined, the Fisk and Crawford power plants are responsible for an additional:

40+ premature deaths – each year
550 emergency room visits – each year
2800 asthma attacks each – year

Fisk and Crawford also are Chicago’s largest stationary sources of carbon dioxide pollution, a primary cause of climate change. They emit as much global warming pollution as nearly 875,000 cars!

It’s time for a change … and change is coming!
A grassroots campaign supported by people of faith and conscience is creating both the “buzz” and the action plan to clean up the coal plants and move Chicago to a clean energy future.

Join us at this community forum and learn:

  • About the goals of the Chicago Clean Power Campaign and how they support those of the City of Chicago.
  • Why a just and immediate response to the pollution spewed from these plants is warranted.
  • How you can take action to persuade your alderman to sponsor the Chicago Clean Power Ordinance!
