Eco-Justice Collaborative, Rainforest Action Network, Greenpeace, Topless America and the 8th Day Center for Justice have created an “eco” roadshow that highlights the REAL cost of coal and offers up local solutions.  First stop?  Truman College in Chicago’s Uptown on March 18. Second stop? Loyola University, April 17!

Stop by for some engaging street theatre and “hands on” activities that:

  • Link our nation’s dependence on coal with the health, social and environmental costs from mountaintop removal mining to the burning of coal in our own city, which has the second highest asthma rates in the country.
  • Present feasible alternatives to coal such as conservation, efficiency and solar and wind.
  • Offer the opportunity to tell Mayor Daley to clean up or close down Fisk and Crawford Generating Stations, Chicago’s two polluting coal-fired power plants.

The first Roadshow was held at Truman College, March 18 (sponsored by Tru-Eco), was a huge success. Watch for photos!
