Guy McPherson is one of the preeminent voices on the threat of Climate Change and the principles of durable living. He will be giving an hour presentation and then open things up to discussion.
Natural Resources and Ecology & Evolutionary BiologyGuy McPherson is Professor Emeritus of from the University of Arizona and author of several books including “Walking Away from Empire: A Personal Journey,” “The Planner’s Guide to Natural Resource Conservation: The Science of Land Development Beyond the Metropolitan Fringe,” and ” Living with Fire: Fire Ecology and Policy for the Twenty-first Century.”
McPherson maintains a blog, titled Nature Bats Last. This blog focuses on the natural world, with a particular emphasis on the twin sides of our fossil-fuel addiction: (1) global climate change and (2) energy decline. Because these phenomena impact every aspect of life on Earth, specific topics range widely, and include philosophy, evolution, economics, humanity, politics, current events, and many aspects of the human condition.
