Learn about Jack’s Solar Garden
On January 12, the Natural Climate Solutions Working Group of The Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition will meet with Byron Kominek, co-owner of Jack’s Solar Garden.  This research / demonstration agrivoltaics project, located in Boulder County, Colorado, is the largest in the country.

The purpose of this meeting is to gather information about this solar garden in order to assess opportunities for promoting agrivoltaics in Illinois. Agrivoltaics (agriculture + photovoltaics) colocaties agriculture and solar installations on the same parcel of land. Panels are spaced far enough apart and high enough off the ground to accommodate crops or grazing. This reduces competition between agriculture and energy, and can lower emissions both through power production (solar energy) and agriculture, if crops are grown without chemicals.

This is a virtual meeting, If you are interested in joining, contact Pam.  Read more here.
