You Can Protect the Middle Fork
23 April, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Let’s Protect the Middle Fork and Vermilion Rivers!
Have you ever wondered how Dynegy’s three coal ash pits along the Middle Fork of the Vermilion River could affect not only the river and wildlife, but also the recreational and business potential of the region?
We’re inviting you to come to an information and action meeting at the Green Cocoon in Danville. Friends Pam and Lan Richart, Eco-Justice Collaborative, will tell us more about the problem, – but more importantly, will outline what each of us can do to help protect and preserve the natural beauty of the Middle Fork that we all enjoy.
Information and Action Meeting
April 23, 2016, from 1pm to 2:30pm (refreshments provided)

You may already know that Dynegy has submitted a closure plan for its toxic waste pits. But their plan won’t protect us from a possible breach that could send millions of gallons of coal ash into the Middle Fork and Vermilion River. A spill would not only have devastating consequences for fish, wildlife and human health, but also could severely impact the existing and planned business and recreational potential of the area, including Kickapoo State Park and Danville’s riverfront development project.
Can you join us? We need you to become part of the call to protect the Middle Fork and Vermilion River and the growing business and recreation potential they provide for our region.
If interested, contact Pam for directions.
