2018 Environmental Justice Advocacy Day
Make sure your voice is heard on issues related to our environment and justice!
Join EJC for this year’s Environmental Advocacy Day at the Capitol Building in Springfield, which is being hosted by Illinois Environmental Council, Illinois Chapter of the Sierra Club, Faith-in-Place. This year's focus on justice as clean energy, water, air, and voting reform supports many of the goals of the Poor People's Campaign.
Showing up and meeting with your elected officials is important. No prior experience is necessary. There will be opportunities to join others who have experience talking with legislators and understand the details for this year's priority legislation. In the past, these events have been vital in passing important environmental policies, including the Future Energy Jobs Act.
When: Thursday, April 26, 2018, 10:00am to 2:00pm
- Meet with your state legislators to ask them to commit to this year’s priorities. Click here for the list and description of the four bills.
- Rally at noon in front of the capitol. Gather with hundreds of people who care about protecting our environment. Hear energizing speakers from environmental and justice organizations, as well as elected officials.
