The Champaign County Health Care Consumers will lead a community meeting about protecting the Mahomet Aquifer, which supplies drinking water to 800,000 residents in central Illinois. Clinton Landfill, located over the aquifer, plans to cap and keep the manufactured gas plant waste “in place”, and accept coal ash, one of the most toxic substances known.
